Practical sessions are held on Mondays at Brentwood School, Brentwood and life classes on Thursdays at the Friends Meeting House, Shenfield from 7.30pm. to 9.30pm. On Monday evenings the sessions are led by a tutor. On Thursday evenings members work from a model, without a tutor.

The Society organizes art weekends twice a year, local art days in the summer, weekend courses, outings and social activities. There are talks and demonstrations from visiting artists, and an annual exhibition is held in the spring at The Bardswell Club in Brentwood.
